Throughout history, people have wondered about the End Times—what it will look like, how it will unfold, and how we should prepare. The Bible gives us prophetic insight into these last days, comparing them to the days of Noah and revealing what will happen through the book of Revelation. Are we living in those times now? Let’s explore what Scripture says and how we should respond.
Jesus Himself compared the End Times to the days of Noah in Matthew 24:37-39:
“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”
When we look at today’s world, we see moral decay, increasing violence, lawlessness, and rejection of God’s truth. Many continue to live life as usual, unaware or indifferent to the warnings of Scripture. Just as people ignored Noah’s warnings before the flood, many today ignore the call to repentance before Christ’s return.
The book of Revelation gives us a glimpse into the events that will unfold in the last days. Jesus also described specific signs to watch for in Matthew 24, which align with Revelation’s prophecies:
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” – Matthew 24:7-8
“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.” – Matthew 24:12
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.” – Matthew 24:9
“For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” – Matthew 24:24
“It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark.” – Revelation 13:16-17
Jesus warned us not to be caught off guard:
“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” – Matthew 24:44
Just as Noah was righteous before God, we must seek holiness:
“But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.” – 1 Peter 1:15
Now is the time to warn others and lead them to Christ:
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19
While no one knows the exact day or hour, the signs of the times are undeniable. The world is becoming increasingly like the days of Noah, and Revelation’s prophecies are unfolding before our eyes. This is not a time to fear, but a time to be prepared and draw closer to God.
